The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) has joined IATI as a new member and has committed to become an IATI publisher.
UNIDO joined IATI in order to improve monitoring and reporting for all stakeholders, improve transparency and contribute to UN Development Group-wide reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals. The 2030 Agenda, with its emphasis on the principles of openness, accountability and transparency, has exerted a significant influence on UNIDO’s decision to join.
UNIDO’s commitment to IATI builds on the organisation’s ongoing Transparency Initiative, at the heart of which is an Open Data Platform, launched in December 2015. UNIDO’s Open Data Platform displays detailed information on UNIDO’s ongoing programmes and projects, including not only budget figures, but also project and programme outcomes and outputs, risks, timelines and gender-marker information, clustered by region and country. This information is complemented by project documents, progress reports and media material well as statistical information on the country and donor.
UNIDO joins Members of IATI from across the world, including donor and partner country governments, multilaterals, foundations, private sector and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). More information on IATI’s members and how to join IATI can be found in its Members’ Assembly section.
